The Material Handling Education Foundation, Inc., the philanthropic arm of the Materials Handling Institute, announced it had raised $80,253 during its annual fundraiser at the MHI Annual Conference. The funds will allow MHEFI to provide scholarships to students and educators pursuing material handling and supply chain fields, helping to build a skilled workforce for this vital industry, the organization said in an Oct. 25 news release.

The group said MHEFI funded scholarships for 61 students for the 2024/2025 academic year. Recipient Samantha Chiang shared her appreciation for the support she received: "People would congratulate me on the scholarship for the next couple of months, which has been an exhilarating experience, and I am forever grateful for that boost in my reputation…

“I'm a second-generation Asian American on both sides of my family,” Chiang continued. “So, I really do want to highlight how much this scholarship means to me, as it helps my financial situation a lot." Chiang is pursuing a bachelor’s in science and engineering with a concentration in mechatronics at Kettering University.

MHEFI acknowledged the MHI Industry Groups for making a generous $49,700 contribution, further empowering MHEFI to support the next generation of industry leaders.  The MHI Industry Groups collaborate to tackle challenges in material handling and supply chains while supporting the Foundation's educational efforts for the future workforce.
