Pittsburgh, Penn.-based Triangle Fastener Corporation announced Monday it had finalized an acquisition agreement with Pro Fastening Systems Inc., based in Arlington Heights, Ill., on Nov. 1. Terms of the deal were not announced.

Pro Fastening Systems, Inc., founded in 1980, provides specialty fasteners and products nationwide to the construction industry. In the Nov. 4 news release, TFC said it would retain all 42 Pro Fastening Systems employees and Don Egan, who remain in a senior management role. TFC also gained operations with Ink Smith, a wholesale distributor of sealants and waterproofing products, which Pro Fastening Systems acquired in 2012.

With the addition of Pro Fastening Systems, TFC will now have 31 branch locations and three distribution centers across the United States. TFC said it plans to leverage Pro Fastening Systems’ existing sales infrastructure and the expertise of knowledgeable personnel to provide a strengthened market position.

TCF said Pro Fastening Systems fits well with TFC’s long-term plans to grow its business through acquisitions of successful fastener distributors in large markets not currently serviced by TFC. The company, founded in 1977, has three distribution centers nationwide focusing on roofing, metal building, drywall and acoustical trades. TFC-specific brands include Concealor, Blazer and APS500.

TFC is a member of the SFS Group, headquartered in Herrbrugg, Switzerland. The portfolio company operates precision components and assemblies, mechanical fastening systems, quality tools, and logistics solutions companies.

SFS Group operates across multiple segments, including construction, automotive, and medical. The company has manufacturing and distribution operations at 140 locations in 35 countries. With approximately 13,500 employees worldwide, SFS Group announced sales of $3 billion in 2023.
