GAF Seam Tape is a self-adhering protective layer designed to aid in sealing joints and seams on roof decks, to help defend against damaging and expensive water intrusion into the attic or living space.
Compatible with asphalt shingle systems, Seam Tape self-seals around fasteners from the overlying underlayment and asphalt shingles, offering an additional layer of protection against water intrusion at deck joints, especially during severe weather when the shingles or underlayment may be compromised.
It is also one of many GAF products contractors can use to comply with certain FORTIFIED Roof requirements*.
Made from fiberglass-reinforced SBS-modified asphalt, GAF Seam Tape’s textured outer surface also helps enhance traction for installers. GAF says its Seam Tape meets the requirements of building code jurisdictions requiring a 4-inch-wide strip of self-adhering polymer-modified bitumen membrane, complying with ASTM D1970, applied over all joints in the roof decking.
The new GAF Seam Team will be available for orders through distribution partners starting December 2024.
