Brava Roof Tile, an independent provider of composite roofing materials in the U.S., announced on Monday an investment from Golden Gate Capital, a San Francisco-based private equity firm, to facilitate production expansion and other growth initiatives.
In a Nov. 11 news release, Brava said its management team, including Chief Executive Officer Adam Brantman and Chief Manufacturing Officer Andrew Ahrens, will continue leading the company and remain significant shareholders after closing. Brava will remain headquartered in Washington, Iowa. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 2008, Brava manufactures high-performance, compression-molded roofing tiles from recycled materials. These tiles deliver durable and cost-competitive solutions to homeowners. Brava’s roofing materials withstand extreme weather conditions and have best-in-class hail and fire resistance.
Brava has grown over the past decade due to rising consumer interest and contractor demand for composite roofing. To meet this surge in demand, the company is expanding its production capacity, supported by an investment from Golden Gate Capital.
“This investment is a testament to the quality of our product, our best-in-class team, and our runway for future growth,” Brantman said. “Partnering with Golden Gate Capital will enable us to accelerate our growth trajectory and become the leading national platform for composite roofing solutions.”
Javier Puig, a managing director at Golden Gate Capital, described Brava as an “industry disruptor,” seemingly an attractive attribute to private equity firms.
“The company’s impressive momentum reflects the superior quality of its products and strength of its brand,” Puig said. “We have deep admiration for Adam, Andrew and the entire Brava team, and we are fully aligned with their strategy and vision.”
Raymond James served as Brava's financial advisor and Holland & Knight LLP served as its legal advisor. Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and Ropes & Gray LLP served as Golden Gate Capital's legal advisors.
