During the 2024 Global Gypsum Conference & Exhibition, Georgia-Pacific's DensDeck StormX Prime Roof Board earned the award for "Global Gypsum gypsum-based Product of the Year." The category is open to gypsum-based and gypsum-enhancing products worldwide. A panel of judges composed of the editorial board of Global Gypsum Magazine and Global Gypsum Conference determines the winner.

The annual conference is the largest meeting of gypsum professionals and involves gypsum and wallboard producers from around the world.

DensDeck StormX Prime Roof Board is marketed as the first high-performance gypsum roof coverboard designed to help prepare commercial rooftops against impact and puncture caused by very severe hail conditions.

“If your building is in a very severe hail zone or is frequently confronted by intense storms, you need a roof board that stands up to attack,” said Mikael Kuronen, director of product management, roofs, at Georgia-Pacific Building Products, in a written statement.
