Roofing Contractor kicked off its Best of Best of Success webinar series with a panel of former Contractor of the Year winners describing what they’ve learned during one of the most challenging years of their professional careers.
Unable to host the 16th annual Best of Success conference as planned in Dallas due to the COVID-19 pandemic, RC invited Steve Little, CEO of KPost Roofing and Waterproofing; Jack Scalo, president and CEO of Burns and Scalo Roofing; Gregg Wallick, president and CEO of Best Roofing Inc., and Jim Ziminski, president, Crane Renovation Group — Mr. Roof — to discuss how the pandemic impacted their employees, customers and bottom lines. At last year’s Best of Success, the foursome discussed some of their greatest challenges as a company and how they overcame them to become perennial Top 100 roofing contractors, and eventual contractors of the year winners. It was among the highest-rated sessions in the conference’s history and had many roofing contractors in attendance riveted and furiously taking notes.
As they did from the Best of Success stage in Miami, each broke down specific tactics they used to keep their people safe, motivated and busy with meaningful work during the pandemic’s onset. They also shared what they focused on to persevere, whether it was improving internal communication, finding new efficiencies with technology, finding new ways to help the communities they serve and how they plan to proceed as essential businesses in an uncertain future.
