Distribution companies supporting the roofing industry are among those who made the prestigious Inc. 5000 list from Inc. Magazine.
The annual Inc. 5000 list tracks and ranks U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit and independent companies. For this year’s list, Inc. ranked companies based on the percentage of revenue growth they experienced from 2019 to 2022. The minimum revenue for 2019 was $100,000, while the minimum for 2022 was $2 million.
In the past, companies likes of Facebook, Chobani, Under Armour, Microsoft, Patagonia, and other household names initially gained national prominence through their Inc. 5000 recognition, making membership on the list desirable.
DC Materials, located in Stoughton, Wis., is a framing material package supplier. Its three-year growth was 1,087%, good for the 539th spot and its first-ever inclusion on the list. The company originally started in labor but shifted to buying wholesale materials and selling them to general contractors.
US LBM, based in Atlanta, is a distributor of specialty building materials. US LBM's growth during the period was 228%, placing it at 2,408. Founded in October 2009 with 500 associates at 13 locations in three states, 14 years later, US LBM operates more than 450 locations nationwide with 15,000 associates.
SRS Distribution, based out of McKinney, Texas, clocked in at 2,994 with its three-year growth reported at 173%. The roofing distributor has now made the list nine times, and has been busy over those past few years with acquisitions and opening 20 greenfield locations in 2022.
San Diego, Calif.-based Geofoam International, which sells and distributes expanded polystyrene foam blocks and sheets for commercial construction projects, made the Inc. 5000 for the first time with 168% growth, earning it the 3,085th spot.
Accent Building Materials out of Tomball, Texas made the list for the second time in the company's history, growing by 131% in three years to take the 3,678th spot. Previously, it was number 4,406 in 2014.
84 Lumber Company, based in Eighty Four, Pa., supplies building materials and manufactured components through more than 310 facilities in 35 states, including roofing products. The company took the 3,717th spot with 129% growth, marking the fourth time it has made the list. Last year, it was number 4,348.
