Cornerstone Building Brands released its 2023 Environmental, Social and Governance Report last week, underscoring the progress made in the company’s sustainability journey, citing it as a critical component to become a premier leader in the building solutions industry.

“Our 2023 ESG Report reflects our ongoing dedication to our core values and highlights the strides we’ve made in safety, sustainability, community impact and innovation,” said Rose Lee, president and CEO of Cornerstone Building Brands, in a September 5 news release. 

“We are proud of the progress we have achieved and remain committed to being a trustworthy partner to our customers, suppliers and team members,” Lee added.

Key Highlights from the 2023 ESG Report:

  • Safety: Enhanced safety programs have improved the company’s Total Recordable Incident Rate year over year, but it remains significantly below the industry average.
  • Sustainability: Achieved an 87% diversion of total waste from landfills and exceeded the trucking industry’s average fuel efficiency rate by 7%. Energy-efficient products that help customers reduce their energy costs, contributing to a smaller environmental footprint, are also included in the company’s portfolio.
  • Community Impact: Through its Home for Good project, the company has invested $3.4 million in product and cash donations to support affordable housing. Since 2016, the company has helped build more than 720 homes across more than 135 communities, demonstrating its commitment to addressing housing needs in our communities.
  • Innovation: The company launched several initiatives to help its teams optimize processes and innovate to deliver high-quality, sustainable exterior building products and solutions.

“Our commitment to delivering industry-leading products and solutions in a sustainable and responsible manner aligns with our purpose of positively impacting the communities where we live, work and play,” Lee noted.
