The ECP division of IPG, a manufacturer of polyolefin products, announced that its roofing underlayment product, NovaSeal, has been awarded the Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver level certification, granted by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute for environmental and performance standards.
In a Sept. 16 news release, ECP described NovaSeal as a high-performance underlayment designed for use under metal, asphalt shingles, synthetic shingles, primed cedar shakes, and most tiles. Its waterproof construction protects residential and commercial steep slope roofs from extreme weather, while the slip-resistant nonwoven top surface enhances jobsite safety during installation.
“NovaSeal’s Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver level certification is a significant milestone in our commitment to sustainability,” said Vishal Khushlani, senior vice president, ECP. “This achievement underscores our ongoing efforts to innovate responsibly and provide our customers with products that support a circular economy.”
The Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver level certification signifies that all grades of NovaSeal meet rigorous standards for material health, material reutilization, renewable energy use, water stewardship, and social fairness.
“Achieving Cradle to Cradle Silver Certification for NovaSeal is a testament to our team's hard work and dedication to advancing sustainable construction solutions,” said Jeffry Cole, product manager. “This certification reinforces our commitment to integrating eco-friendly practices into our product development processes and delivering innovative solutions that meet the highest environmental standards.”
