The Schechtl Max

MetalForming, Peachtree City, Ga., introduces the new “Max” version of Schechtl’s folding systems with several new features. First, the Spectrafold computing system was given 3-D touch-screen capability and a patented intuitive architecture that allows even semi-skilled operators to produce virtually any of the 9,999 parts stored in memory. The “touch-edit” capability allows changing dimension, material or angle, on the fly. Additional features include a “quick bend” sequence, tilt-view swiveling monitor and a non-glare screen. Next, there is now more heft to the upper and lower clamping beams, giving the machine the capacity to create a fully closed hem on 24-gauge material, all across the bed line. Third, the material thickness changeover system was re-engineered and conversion time reduced to 10 seconds. The complete line of architectural Schechtl folders comes standard with operator friendly intuitive Spectrafold CNCs; versatile dual 1 1/4-inch ball screw-driven backgauges, driven by 1.5 horsepower motors for precision and long machine life; case hardened steel finger stops; and solid-steel folding beams that offer precision repeatability in bend angle of +/- 1/2 degree.
