Small Plane Crashes into Roof of Texas Home

The home was unoccupied at the time; authorities say three aboard suffered non-life-threatening injuries

Reports out of Georgetown, Texas, approximately 25 miles north of Austin, told of a small plane crashing into the roof of a house in the community of around 75,000. SKY News first reported on the incident on Sun., July 23.

According to a statement from the Georgetown Fire Department on its Facebook page, three people were aboard the plane. All three passengers were hurt and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The colonial-style home in Georgetown was empty at the time of the crash, which happened just before noon local time on Sunday. 

In a Facebook post, Georgetown Fire Department officials posted: "The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will begin their investigation this afternoon; crews will remain on scene to assist. We appreciate your support in avoiding this area [on Monday, July 24]."
