DryHome Roofing and Siding, based in Sterling, Va., awarded the nonprofit Pathway Homes a free roof during the recent holiday season during its 23rd annual Free Roof for the Holidays program, providing a new roof for one of its houses in the Fairfax area that is home to three formerly homeless adults.

“Pathway Homes is wonderful nonprofit that is helping Northern Virginians struggling with homelessness and mental health issues regain their lives,” said DryHome CEO Steve Gotschi in a December news release. “Knowing that we are helping Pathways … brings joy to our DryHome team.”

DryHome selected Pathway Homes as the recipient based on its needs, the condition of the roof, and the important work it does to help others.

“DryHome’s generosity ensures that we can reach more people with the resources this frees up,” said Pathway Homes CEO Sylisa Lambert-Woodard. “Our clients have long struggled to keep a roof over their heads, so having a new, dry roof means the world to them too.”

Pathway Homes is a nonprofit that provides essential mental health services, starting with safe housing, for individuals struggling with poverty and inequity. For nearly 45 years, it has supported tens of thousands of people in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., and last year, nearly 2,000 people used its services.

DryHome Roofing has served Northern Virginia for over 35 years. The “Free Roof for the Holidays” program enables the company to thank its customers and the community by helping those less fortunate have a safe roof over their heads, too.

Since the program’s inception, the company has donated more than 23 roofs worth more than $200,000 to people and nonprofits in the community.
