GAF Materials Corp., Wayne, N.J., announced changes in its production capacity to better serve professional contractors and distributors. These changes will position the company’s manufacturing resources to respond to shifting regional product demand as well as address current market conditions.
GAF is adding three manufacturing operations, including a new fiberglass mat facility in Shafter, Calif.; a new laminated shingle plant in Michigan City, Ind.; and a new facility to produce EverGuard® TPO membranes in Mt. Vernon, Ind.
The company is also mothballing production in three low-demand facilities: Monroe, Ga.; Port Arthur, Texas; and Corvallis, Ore. These markets will be served by other nearby GAF plants. Production may be reinstated in one or more of these facilities when market growth and customer demand justifies it.
