Carlisle SynTec, Carlisle, Pa., has entered into a letter of intent to acquire EcoStar Inc., Vernon Hills, Ill. EcoStar produces a synthetic roofing tile that features the natural look of slate. Containing up to 100 percent recycled content, the tile’s environmental aspects have earned EcoStar considerable recognition is the roofing, historcal restoration and sustainable building sectors. The technology fits well with Carlisle’s rubber and plastic expertise and can be utilized to make other roofing products for the steep-slope market.
