IKO offers Leading Edge starter strips to help save time during the installation of the first course of shingles. Rather than cutting the full-size shingles out of the bundle to install along the eave, simply apply the starter strips, which are already cut to size. A key feature of Leading Edge is that the sealant strip is already in place, which allows for a tight seal at the bottom of the shingle. The strip shingles can be applied along rake edges where they provide a straight edge to trim the overlying courses and help seal the shingle ends to prevent wind damage.
