Elk Corp. of America, Dallas, has joined with the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry and other sponsors in an educational exhibit that teaches children (and adults) about the usefulness of petroleum, the key ingredient in asphalt shingles. Called Petroleum Planet, the exhibit makes the point that petroleum can be found in places other than automobiles, and is an integral part of our everyday lives. Elk’s Prestique® Plus Forest Green premium laminated asphalt shingles are used to roof part of the exhibit.
