TAMKO, Joplin, Mo., offers CoolRidge®, a self-contained 4-foot sectional shingle over ridge vent. It is designed to help remove heat and warm moist air out of the attic, providing maximum ventilation — 18 square inches of net-free area per linear foot when used with an equal or greater amount of soffit ventilation. CoolRidge® is an injection-molded, polypropylene product that features both an external and an internal “sinewave”-shaped baffle designed to help prevent wind-driven rain and snow infiltration. Each section also contains integrated end plugs located every foot to reduce scrap when splicing.
