The Dow Chemical Co., Midland, Mich., announced that it is extending its long-term partnership agreement with Habitat for Humanity International, committing $2 million over a four-year period. Designated toward house sponsorships, this new commitment represents a significant increase from the four-year $1 million donation the company presented to Habitat in 1997.
An active supporter of Habitat for Humanity since the early 1980s, Dow has provided Styrofoam brand insulation, funding, and employee and customer volunteers for many Habitat homes worldwide. In Sept. 2000, at the Jimmy Carter Work Project in Plains, Ga., Dow announced a $5 million donation of Styrofoam brand insulation to Habitat for Humanity for the next 25,000 homes built in North America through 2005.
