Officially accepted in November 2005, this approval was granted by the Building Code Compliance Office (BCCO) and accepted by the Building Code and Product Review Committee, authorizing that Majestic Slate could be used in Miami-Dade county and other areas where allowed by the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ).

Certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Majestic Slate synthetic tiles hold UL's highest testing approvals for wind, fire and hail. The product has been approved across the country not only by the International Code Council (ICC), but also various regional agencies like Miami-Dade. Weighing approximately 240 pounds per square, EcoStar Majestic Slate offers strength but alleviates the need for extra framing sometimes needed to support the weight of natural slate. Shingles can be installed with stainless steel roofing nails and pneumatic equipment.
