The roof on the Evangel University Ashcroft Activities Center has survived the grueling elements of Ozarks mountain weather for more than 30 years. With the hope of preserving the roof for another 30 years, the University turned to Henry Company (Huntington Park, Calif.) and its elastomeric roof coatings products.
The Henry Company 280 acrylic-based, non-fibered white finish roof coating features an 85 percent reflective rating, offers excellent UV resistance, and dazzled the eyes of the university staff.
"As the roofing project neared completion, the compliments on how beautiful the building looked started pouring in. The change from the dingy and yellowed roof to brilliant white took some on the campus by surprise," said Charlie Jones, proprietor of Charlie Jones Roofing. "Even more striking than the roof's appearance was the way the Henry Company roof coating changed the indoor environment of the building."
The existing microform coating was stripped off the roof and the Henry 107 Asphalt Emulsion base was applied before the reflective coating was applied.
"When the Henry monolithic coating went on, the internal air quality immediately improved," Jones said. "The indoor environment changes surprised the people using the center, and of course left them very pleased when the project reached completion."
The Henry Company 280 Premium White Elastomeric Roof Coating and Henry Company 107 Asphalt Emulsion roof coating improve internal building air quality, provide superior waterproofing protection and exceptional UV reflection for industrial and residential roofs, the company reports.
