SCOTTSBORO, Ala. - Johns Manville (JM) hosted a ceremonial dedication on Sept. 21 for a new state-of-the-art thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing membrane manufacturing facility in Scottsboro, Ala. State and local dignitaries, including U.S. Congressman Bud Cramer, joined JM’s Vice President and General Manager of Roofing Systems, Tom Ryan in delivering keynote addresses before government officials, members of the Scottsboro community, JM executives and other business leaders.

“This is truly a great day for the City of Scottsboro and the State of Alabama,” Alabama Gov. Bob Riley said. “Johns Manville’s investment is a testament to the workforce in Scottsboro, and the State is committed to ensure the company’s success in Alabama.” Johns Manville will manufacture TPO for use in commercial and industrial roofing systems. The company plans to begin production in mid-2008.
