INDIANAPOLIS - Firestone Building Products Company recently announced that Mike Gorey will be leaving his positions as Chairman, President and CEO of Bridgestone Firestone Diversified Products (BFDP) and President of Firestone Building Products Company, LLC (FSBP) to accept the new position of President, U.S. & Canada Consumer Tire Sales Division at Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC (BFNT). Gorey will remain a member of the BFDP Board of Directors. Also, Ken Weaver, who currently serves as Corporate Controller for Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc., and Vice President of Finance for BFNT, will succeed Gorey as Chairman, President and CEO of BFDP, which is headquartered in Indianapolis. Mike Vall, currently Chief Operating Officer for Firestone Industrial Products Company, LLC, will become President of FSBP.
The changes will be effective Jan. 1, 2009.
In 1983, Gorey joined then-Firestone Tire & Rubber Company as Senior Corporate Auditor. Since then he has served in various finance and executive positions within Bridgestone Americas before accepting his current position in 2004. Gorey serves on several company boards, including BSAH, BFNT and BFDP. Weaver has held financial, IT, sales and marketing positions during his 22 years with Bridgestone Americas family of companies.
Vall has been with Bridgestone Americas family of companies for more than 30 years, and has held positions of increasing responsibility with the former Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, and Bridgestone Firestone Diversified Products companies.
