The Council of the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association announced the appointment of Kevin Koonce as the director, government affairs and communications.

The Council of the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association announced the appointment of Kevin Koonce as the director, government affairs and communications. He will be responsible for directing all activities regarding federal legislation and efforts to promote the use of insulation to achieve energy savings and attendant economic and environmental benefits. Koonce comes to the Council of NAIMA from Sorini, Samet & Associates where he was senior director of government affairs.  In this capacity, he represented major U.S. corporations and trade associations before the U.S. government and the U.S. Congress on international trade issues and legislation. Prior to this, Koonce was vice president of government relations for the American International Automobile Dealers Association. In this role, he was the principal representative for the association before Congress and the Administration while working on tax and trade issues. He also routinely collaborated with other large trade associations to coordinate and implement grassroots strategies on various business interests. Koonce received his J.D. from Catholic University’s Columbus School of Law in 2001. He received his B.S. from Denison University in political science in 1993.
