The Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association (RCMA)announced the appointment ofJames A. Baker,Jr.,as General Manager of the Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association. Baker joined RCMA In September, 2007. Baker has over 15 years of association operations and management experience, most recently serving as Director of Industry Affairs for RCMA and the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association. He is an active participant in numerous roofing industry organizations, including serving as Vice Chair of the Cool Roof Ratings Council and Secretary/Treasurer of the Roofing Industry Committee on Weather Issues. During his tenure at RCMA, Baker has been instrumental in formulating public policy, engagement of key industry stakeholders, communicating industry positions, and developing consensus among members on key strategic issues.
Previously, Baker has served as Executive Director, Society of Financial Services Professionals; Deputy Director, Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute; Deputy Executive Director, Electronic Financial Services Council; Public Affairs Officer, Society of Women Engineers; and Director of Membership, Federal Bar Association.
In his new role with RCMA, Baker will leverage his broad association background to direct the day-today operations and activities of RCMA. In addition, he will continue to serve as staff liaison for the Government Affairs Committee, Technical Committee, Member Services Committee, and numerous strategic task forces and steering groups concentrating on key industry initiatives. Baker will also work with the Board of Directors in the implementation of RCMA programs and services, as well as developing new strategic initiatives. Baker will continue to report toReed B. Hitchcock, RCMA Executive Director.
Supreme Roofing Systems, Inc.announced that senior project managerDick E. Weibleyhas been named by Roof Integrated Solar Energy (RISE) as a Certified Solar Roofing Professional (CSRP). Weibley is among the first 14 roofing professionals in the country and the first in Texas to qualify for this certification. The CSRP designation is a voluntary certification for those who plan and oversee the installation of roof-mounted photovoltaic systems. The credential evaluates whether candidates have the underlying knowledge required to successfully install a roof-mounted PV system. RISE's board of directors certified Weibley after he passed a challenging examination. The exam tested applicants’ understanding of critical roof system construction and maintenance practices necessary to successfully support roof-mounted solar energy installation without adversely affecting roof system performance and service life.
Tecta America Corp.announced it has namedRobert McNamaraas President of Stock Roofing, a Tecta America Company in Minneapolis. McNamara is former National Roofing Contractor President and previous President of Tecta America’s F.J.A. Christiansen operation in Milwaukee, Wis. Stock Roofing has grown tremendously in the last few years and has particular expertise in green roofing, with the Target Center as a flagship project. Stock also has completed many notable projects, amongst them the Minneapolis Federal Courthouse, the St. Paul Fire Station, and the historical James J. Hill House. Stock Roofing was founded in 1987, and became a Tecta America Company in 2003. McNamara has over 30 years in the roofing industry, and holds a B.S. in accounting and a law degree from Marquette University.
