CARLISLE, Pa. – Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM) announced that its new Polyisocyanurate (polyiso) insulation plant will be located about 45 miles south of Seattle, Wash. in the area of Frederickson in Pierce County.
With operations targeted to commence in the third quarter of 2012, this new facility, CCM’s seventh polyiso plant, will be built and equipped to the same high standards as CCM’s existing polyiso facilities in New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Florida, Texas and Utah.
“CCM is excited about this commitment to the Pacific Northwest and Western Canadian commercial roofing markets,” said Nick Shears, CCM VP of Sales and Marketing. “CCM is already the largest producer of polyiso in the US and is pleased to add this new facility that will supply locally made and quality tested polyiso to Washington and the surrounding states and Canadian provinces. With the closest competitive plant being 600 miles away, CCM will offer the market’s fastest and most reliable access to polyiso, a real benefit in a product that needs to be delivered on a JIT basis to job sites.”
“We are proud to welcome Carlisle Construction Materials to their new home, and I am excited for the opportunity to put more of our citizens to work,” Pierce County Executive Pat McCarthy said. “I also want to thank the team that won the competition to earn this new business - the property owner Dave Randles, the Economic Development Board, the state of Washington, our county team, and of course Carlisle Construction Materials. One of my top priorities as Pierce County Executive is the recruitment and retention of employers to provide more options for family wage based jobs.”
“I am thrilled that new job opportunities will come from a great multi-national company,” stated Councilmember Rick Talbert. “Our economic development programs are directly tied to the creation of jobs and this project is the culmination of strategic partnerships working together to create a great place to do business. We wish Carlisle Construction Materials resounding success in Pierce County.”
Carlisle Construction Materials has been a supplier of commercial roofing systems for over 40 years, selling mainly through the Carlisle SynTec and Versico brands. Hunter Panels, added to CCM in 2002, sells and markets the Hunter brand of insulation across the U.S and Canada. Its product offering consists of a full line of rigid polyiso roofing insulation for use in both commercial and residential construction.
Polyiso commands an impressive share of North America’s insulation market due to its superior energy savings qualities and broad range of applications.
