SHEFFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio–Sheffield Metals International is pleased to announce the addition to their roster of Jim Mitchell as Technical Director. Building on an experienced, professional team, Sheffield continues in its market expansion into the sustainable metal roofing industry.
“Jim brings more than 40 years of experience to the organization, and we’re enthusiastic about the possibilities which that experience provides,” said Mike Blake president, Sheffield Metals International.
With numerous projects across the country, including many solar, retrofit, new construction and others, Sheffield is poised to continue its growth, and Mitchell has been tapped to implement new technical procedures and programs designed to gain market share.
Mitchell began his career as an installer and completed a 10-year apprenticeship under the guidance of an esteemed German master metal mechanic. From there, his training continued as a sub-contractor completing large-scale metal projects nationwide, before becoming an independent consultant for the insurance industry, as well as providing testing and installation details for Miami Dade County and various manufacturers. Prior to joining Sheffield, Mitchell was the technical director for Drexel Metals, Inc.
In addition to his vast experience and expertise within the metal roofing industry, Mitchell holds a patent for a proprietary clip design which has been used extensively, including projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Mitchell will be based out of Sheffield’s Florida office in Jacksonville.
