ROSEMONT, Ill. — Tecta America Corp. recently announced that National Green Roof Manager Angie Durhman will be the opening speaker at The Green Roof Science Symposium. The event will take place on Tuesday, April 17 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and will be hosted by The Green Roof Research Consortium at Barnard College and Columbia University in New York City.
The Green Roof Science Symposium features a panel of industry experts that will be speaking about green roof research in New York City. Presentations will focus on a variety of topics including:
• Ecology and Ecological Restoration
• Sustainable Cities
• Green Infrastructure
• Storm Water Mitigation
• Substrate Design
• Urban Heat Island Mitigation
Angie Durhman will kick off the event with a presentation on the practical application of urban green roofs at 9:10 a.m. She has an extensive background in green roof solutions and has worked on a variety of Tecta Green projects in New York City including the U.S.P.S. Morgan Center green roof, which was the focus of a recent Columbia University case study.
