DensDeck® Prime Roof Boards, part of the DensDeck family of roof boards from Georgia-Pacific Gypsum, have been enhanced with new features. The boards continue to offer mold and fire resistance, strength and dimensional stability, and now provide broader compatibility and greater performance with roofing adhesives. In adhered, single-ply membrane testing, enhanced DensDeck Prime demonstrated an average of 24 percent better bond strength than the original product, when using solvent based adhesives. With this enhancement, DensDeck Prime allows adhesives to be applied more evenly and uniformly, so the amount of adhesive used and the labor needed to apply it is potentially reduced. The new mats also make the board easier to cut and handle throughout application, and provide a cleaner, more consistent appearance to the finished roof. In addition, DensDeck Prime is the first and only gypsum roof board warranted for up to 90 days of exposure to normal weather conditions when applied vertically on parapet walls.
