The Quad-Pod is a patented device that trained practitioners can use on the roof to test shingle performance. This product is based upon the standard method published as ASTM D6381 “Standard Method for Measurement of Asphalt Shingle Mechanical Uplift Resistance.” It measures how much force is required to separate the sealant layer, and D6381 provides a method for determining if the shingles were properly sealed in the first place.
