Low slope roof adherence is tested using an “uplift dome.” Some practitioners perform ASTM E907 “Standard Test Method for Field Testing Uplift Resistance of Adhered Membrane Roofing Systems,” and some use FM Global 1-52. Both methods use a square uplift chamber, which is typically a rigid body of aluminum and/or polycarbonate. The problem is often portability — the dome cannot ship by air and trucking is expensive. The Spydr Dome eliminates this problem and maintains compliance with ASTM E907 and FM Global 1-52. Spydr’s removable legs and foldable membrane fit into a duffel bag and can travel as checked baggage. Vacuum-battery power eliminates the need for shore power, extension cords or generators. Travel cost is greatly reduced. For more information, visit www.apec-llc.com
