WAYNE, N.J. — GAF has announced the latest winner of its Share What You Treasure promotion. The Facebook-based application features documentary videos created exclusively for GAF by critically acclaimed photographer and filmmaker James Minchin III, which show families and what they treasure most under their roofs. GAF roof owners were invited to share what is protected under their GAF roof to potentially be selected to star in one of three webisodes to be hosted on the website.
GAF’s most recent winners to be featured in the third and final webisode are Scott and Celena Redler and their son, Chase. “Underneath my roof, my family is the most important thing,” explains Scott, a GAF Treasures participant whose GAF roof was featured in the latest webisode created by Minchin. “We cherish our time and treasure the time that we get to spend in our house together . . . enjoying all of the things we worked so hard to achieve.”
Since its launch on Feb. 14, GAF’s Treasures community has had more than 20,000 Facebook visits, with 34,000 video webisode views. Users are invited to share photos or links to what they treasure under their roofs and are entered to win weekly $100 Home Depot gift cards and a $2,500 grand prize shopping spree. Users can also view others’ collections and engage through “like” buttons and comments.
“Most people think of their roofs as being strictly functional or practical, and GAF is hoping to change that perception. Yes, a roof keeps out the weather and the elements, but from a more personal perspective, it also protects everything people value inside their homes,” said Alyssa Hall, marketing communications manager at GAF. “This app allows us to connect with our users — and allows them to connect with each other — to literally share what they treasure. And the weekly contest allows us to give something back to them for sharing with us.”
GAF understands a roof protects more than a house — it protects the treasures people hold dear to their hearts. This online community is open for all to join and to share what they treasure most through videos and photos. Users will also have the chance to learn what matters most to Americans all over the country.
