WAYNE, N.J. — GAF will host an open house on Tuesday, Oct. 22 to celebrate the grand opening of its second polyisocyanurate (ISO) plant. ISO is a rigid-board insulation material, which can be used in both commercial and residential applications to reduce energy demand on a building.
Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach will be a featured speaker for the event. Distributors, contractors, media and local government leaders are expected to attend the event, which begins at 10:30 a.m. and continues through 2 p.m.
The new GAF facility is located in Gainesville, Texas, and follows the opening of GAF’s first ISO manufacturing facility last year in Statesboro, Ga. It is one of the few plants in the country and the only one in this market that combines production of thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing membranes and ISO roofing insulation. This plant enables GAF to efficiently service its customers throughout the Central and Southwest regions of the United States by shipping combined loads of TPO and ISO, thereby reducing unloading time and providing high-quality materials delivered at a better value. Additionally, the reduction in trucks required for shipping means fewer emissions and therefore less environmental impact.
“Our Gainesville plant increases our leadership position in the roofing industry, enabling us to serve our customers more efficiently and produce more industry-changing products than ever before,” stated Bob Tafaro, president and CEO at GAF. “We are proud to be an American-based company and are deeply committed to investing in the future of our country by building plants, creating jobs and delivering innovative products.”
The plant is located at 1301 Corporate Dr. in Gainesville, Texas. GAF’s presence in Texas includes three manufacturing facilities (Dallas, Ennis and Gainesville), a research and development center in Ennis and a corporate office in Dallas.
