TROY, Mich. — Architectural Roofing & Waterproofing and Roofing Contractor have teamed up with Simpson, Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) to offer a day-long series of educational courses focused on building envelope design. The event will take place May 14 at the Waltham, Mass., headquarters of SGH, a national engineering firm that designs, investigates, and rehabilitates structures and building enclosures. ARW Live will offer four courses approved for AIA continuing education credits on topics including commercial roofing, insulation and waterproofing.
Event sponsors include Dow, Sika Sarnafil, Georgia-Pacific Gypsum and Polyglass USA, Inc.
The four educational courses, which each qualify for one 1 unit of AIA CES, are designed to provide architects, roof consultants, roofing professionals, waterproofing professionals, building owners and facility managers with key insights on building design and advice on protecting their building assets. The agenda for the event is as follows:

11 a.m.-12 p.m. — “Separating Cool Roofing Facts From Myths” by Sika Sarnafil
12 noon-1 p.m. — Lunch and networking
1 p.m.-2 p.m. — “Finally, the Truth About Condensation” by Dow
2 p.m.-3 p.m. — “Waterproofing for Plaza Decks and Vegetative Roofs” by SGH
3 p.m.-3:45 p.m. — Tour of SGH facility
