CLEVELAND — Novagard Solutions announced that the company has invested more than $1 million in new packaging equipment to support the rapid sales growth of its Novaflex Metal Roof Sealant and other Novaflex construction products. According to Dr. Roger Moore, director of marketing and product support manager, the company is also in the process of making an additional investment to allow the company to offer its products in 20-ounce sausage packs in 2015.
The new packaging equipment has been online since June of 2014. “Our new, fully automated packaging line takes the product right from the mixer, places it into the tubes, seals the tubes, labels each cartridge with the lot number and color, puts the tubes into boxes and seals the boxes,” noted Moore. “As a result, we have doubled our capacity.”
The company has invested another $250,000 in a production line now on order that will produce 20-ounce sausage packs. “We’re hoping to have it up and running by late March or early April,” Moore said. “We are ramping up for the spring demand.”
The move to add sausage packs to the company’s offerings came as a direct result of feedback from contractors, noted Moore. “It turns out we have a lot of specialty commercial contractors who have told us it saves a lot of time refilling the gun,” he said. “We feel it will be a competitive advantage to offer our Novaflex Metal Roof Sealant in sausage packs, as well as the other products we have, because no one can match the color palette we have available.”
According to Moore, sausage packs will be available in boxes of 12 that have been redesigned to make them easier to carry up to the roof. “Because we call directly on contractors, we have a chance to really hear from them about what they want in our products,” Moore said. “As a result we’re very responsive, and that’s why we’re capturing so much market share. It’s not rocket science — it’s just doing the right thing for your customers.”
