WAYNE, N.J. — GAF has announced the move of its corporate headquarters from Wayne, N.J., to 1 Campus Drive in Parsippany, N.J. The 128-year-old company has spent more than 40 years located on an 11-building campus in Wayne and is making the move to consolidate its operations into a single building.
After extensive consideration and research into relocation possibilities, GAF’s president and CEO, Bob Tafaro, felt confident that remaining in New Jersey was the right decision. “There are a tremendous number of talented, educated and experienced people right here in New Jersey,” Tafaro said. “Whether we're looking for scientists, businesspeople or IT technicians, the talent pool and range of skills available in this state is second to none.”
GAF has made a significant investment in upgrading the building, using its own energy-efficient TPO roofing for the roof. The refurbished building brings the company’s departments and functions together under one roof to foster even greater collaboration and teamwork while improving the company’s overall operating efficiency. The current location in Wayne has 11 buildings spread over a sprawling 99-acre campus. The new location is a single, 330,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that will house all of the company’s operations on three floors.
“We’re all looking forward to the many advantages that our new facility will provide,” Tafaro said. “We’re a very customer-focused company, and the new facility will only enhance our ability to create value for our customers.” The architecture, layout and furniture for the new building were selected to facilitate effective communication, quick decision making and improved efficiencies.
This isn’t the only new investment GAF has made in its business. Throughout the past few years, GAF has invested $350 million in capital improvements, including several new manufacturing plants for its commercial roofing products. “We are aggressively investing in our business,” stated Tafaro, “because it’s a good long-term bet that homeowners and businesses will continue to need new roofs.”
The company is also investing in its people and their development, and strongly encourages promoting from within. “We believe that we have some of the most talented people anywhere, not just in the building products industry, but in business in general — and continuing to develop that talent pool will be critical to our future success.”
GAF employs more than 3,000 nationwide, plus more than 500 at its headquarters.
