Synthetic Underlayment • Alpha Pro Tech
Alpha Pro Tech Engineered Products Inc. has launched its latest synthetic roof underlayment with the addition of REX TECHNO SB: a coated-woven polypropylene fabric that also has a non-woven polypropylene laminated to the top surface. The unique features include a multi-filament strand woven into the product that gives an additional slip-resistant feature. The non-woven fabric is treated so that moisture won’t stand on the top of the surface but will disappear, eliminating the fear of slippage. The rolls come 48 inches wide and 10 squares per roll. Wood-Roofing Underlayment • Benjamin Obdyke
Benjamin Obdyke’s Cedar Breather® protects the beauty and life of wood roofing by providing a space for continuous airflow between the solid roof deck and shingles or shakes. The underlayment product is fire resistant (ASTM E108-tested), provides cushioning during severe hail, works to prevent thermal cupping and warping, and reduces potential rotting. Its patented, three-dimensional design allows continuous airflow between the solid roof deck and shingles, and creates a space to help eliminate excess moisture, allowing the bottom of the singles to dry. Installation doesn’t require any special tools and eliminates the need for furring strips. For more information, visit www.benjaminobdyke.com.
