WOODLAND, Wash. - FlashCo Manufacturing, Inc. recently completed the acquisition of Dick's Lead Shop from owner Dick Stolz. The acquisition expands FlashCo's footprint in the Northwest that is served by their Woodland, Washington location. After 40 years of building and selling lead flashings to roofers in Washington and other western states, Stolz decided it was the right time to retire and FlashCo was the right organization to purchase his business.
"I have known Dick for 25 years," says FlashCo CEO Greg Morrow. "I originally sold him sheet lead when I was working in the Washington area and I kept in touch with him as I started and grew FlashCo. We've always had a mutual respect for one another and this was a good fit with Dick's passion for his customers."
FlashCo completed the acquisition on October 21, 2015.
"I started the business in 1976 and I have enjoyed building flashings since then," Stolz said in a news release. "I built the business on hard work, a good product and good service, all the things that my customers will enjoy with FlashCo. I'm happy for FlashCo to carry on the business while I'll have more time for fishing, golfing and traveling with my wife."
Stolz began notifying his customers and FlashCo is transitioning them to its full product lineup of standard and custom flashings for commercial and residential roofers.
"We are excited to have completed this acquisition," says FlashCo Director of Sales, Bill Bartell. "Our business is built on saving the contractor time. We do that through our commitment to customer satisfaction, respect, integrity and a can-do attitude. These are core values that Dick's customers have come to expect from him and they will find the same core values with FlashCo."
Founded in Sonoma County, California, FlashCo has grown to five locations, and is one of the largest fabricators of roof flashings and accessories in North America with over 8 million parts made since 2000.
