PORTLAND, Ore. — For Spring 2016 KEEN Utility is adding a safety work-horse to its arsenal of innovative pro-tective footwear. Assembled in KEEN’s very own Portland factory using the finest materials from around the world, The Leavenworth Met offers unique protective and comfort features that blend fit and function for today’s hard-est working men.

“One of our biggest motivations each season is how to innovate protection and comfort for our customers,” said Mark Reilly, division director for KEEN Utility. “The Leavenworth offers some really unique protective features with the com-fort and durability we’ve become known for. The fact that we build it right here in Portland has allowed us to be even more hands on during its development and introduction to the market.”

Crafted with a supple full-grain waterproof leather upper, the boot fea-tures a KEEN - a dry waterproof, breath-able membrane allowing perspiration out without letting water in. A padded collar adds increased comfort while left and right asymmetrical steel toes deliver ASTM-rated protection that meets EH standards. The Leavenworth features a 90-degree heel and oil and slip-resistant, non-marking rubber outsole that meets Mark II non-slip testing standards. Built for comfort in KEEN’s hometown of Portland, Ore., the boot also features KEEN’s Million Step Comfort midsole which resists breakdown and compres-sion, ensuring long-lasting comfort, pro-tection and stability for a boot ready to stand up to the longest days on the job site.
