Roofing contractors should bring their appetites to the IRE show floor Thursday for a special meet-and-greet opportunity with Food Network star and restauranteur Guy Fieri.
The best-selling author and award-winning chef who’s best known for his fiery television persona on hit shows "Diners Drive-Ins and Dives," "Guy's Grocery Games," and "Guy's Big Bite,” will meet fans on the show floor at 3:30 p.m. March 2, hosted by GAF at Booth #802.
The appearance is among several special events GAF has planned featuring Fieri, who turned his win on the “The Next Food Network Star” reality show in 2006 into multiple business opportunities in television, merchandising, public appearances, publishing and restaurant ownership.
He was the centerpiece of GAF’s annual sweepstakes contest for roofing contractors this year, won by Michael Kohler of Walker Roofing in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Roofers that entered prior to the Jan. 31 deadline were in the running for a grand prize that included round-trip airfare for two to Las Vegas, four nights in a hotel, tickets to the show floor, and a gift card valued at $1,500. Kohler will also have lunch at one of Fieri’s newest restaurants — Guy’s Vegas Kitchen & Bar.
It’s hardly the first time GAF has rolled out the red carpet for high-profile celebrities at the show. Last year, future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning appeared on the IRE show floor in Orlando and took photos with hundreds of roofers that waited in line — barely a week after his second Super Bowl win. In 2014, the last time the IRE was in Las Vegas, GAF welcomed rock ‘n’ roll musician Kid Rock.
