W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. — ASTM International’s Committee on Roofing and Waterproofing will present its top annual award — the Award of Merit — to Tim Kersey, of SOPREMA, in Wadsworth, Ohio. The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for individual contributions to developing standards.
The committee is honoring Kersey for outstanding leadership, distinguished service, and personal commitment to ASTM Committee on Roofing and Waterproofing, particularly his dedication to the development and improvement of specifications, test methods, and practices for polymer-modified bituminous roofing products and systems. Kersey has been a member of ASTM International since 1988, and has previously received the Award of Appreciation (2004), the Distinguished Leadership Award (2011), and the Award of Appreciation (2012) from the committee.
Kersey serves as the vice president and general manager with SOPREMA, a role he has held since 2012. He previously served as manager – technical developments with Siplast. Kersey holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Henderson State University.
In addition to ASTM International, Kersey is a member of the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturing Association, Single Ply Roofing Industry, RCI, Inc., National Roofing Contractors Association, and the FM Global Advisory Council.
