ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — National Roofing has donated $50,000 to Casa Esperanza.
National Roofing is one of New Mexico’s oldest and largest commercial roofing companies.
Casa Esperanza is an independent nonprofit that provides a home-away-from-home for families facing cancer and other serious medical needs.
National Roofing’s Business Development Officer, Lori Gunnare, saw a need to give to Casa Esperanza.
Albuquerque experienced a hailstorm that left severe damage to the Casa Esperanza facility.
“The linen was destroyed, the carpet was ruined, and the walls were saturated with water,” Gunnare said. “There were families displaced from the storm, and that’s when I realized all the good they do...and that’s what inspired me to think what we can do to help out.”
It was an emotional moment when Gunnare presented Chrisann Gray, Casa Esperanza’s executive director, with the donation during National Roofing’s holiday employee appreciation event.
“There is a special place in my heart for National Roofing and their employees and for the difference they make in our communities,” said Gray. “National Roofing helping the most vulnerable in the community is just overwhelming.”
National Roofing worked closely with strategic partner Ridgeline Supply to further Casa Esperanza’s efforts to house families who are referred to Albuquerque for assistance, regardless of their financial situation.
“The team at Ridgeline Supply is privileged to have the opportunity to help Casa Esperanza, an organization that blesses our community,” said Travis Cunningham, Ridgeline Supply’s general manager.
