PHILADELPHIA — Benjamin Obdyke Inc. announced Joe Holcombe will serve as national sales manager.
Holcombe joins the Benjamin Obdyke team with more than 15 years of industry experience, most recently serving as northeast regional sales manager at Boral Light Building Products.
During his time at Boral, Holcombe was responsible for structuring and training sales teams and developing strong distribution processes throughout the company footprint.
“Benjamin Obdyke celebrated its 150th anniversary this year, and as a company steeped in tradition and deeply rooted in longtime client relationships, hiring a strong national sales manager was of the upmost importance,” said Dave Campbell, president of Benjamin Obdyke. “His passion for helping clients build better, paired with his extensive background in sales makes Joe the perfect fit for this position.”
In his new role, Holcombe will lead training and development for the Benjamin Obdyke sales staff, arming his teams with extensive industry knowledge and education to help them encourage clients to build better and use quality products on every project.
He will play a significant role in the launch of several new product lines for Benjamin Obdyke, who recently released 9 and 10-foot HydroGap and HydroFlash GP. The company plans to launch additional new products in 2019.
“Benjamin Obdyke is such a unique company – they are industry veterans who blazed the trail for so many new innovations, including their most recent product launches,” Holcombe said. “I have always been passionate about building better and providing clients the resources, education and products to do so, and I know the team at Obdyke shares the same goals and mission. I am looking forward to joining this esteemed group and helping continue to develop the best products and most knowledgeable sales force in the industry.”
Holcombe succeeds longtime national sales manager, John McGill, who will retire after 35 years with the company. McGill was instrumental in the expansion of field sales representation, opening the Canadian market and the softwood (cedar) industry years ago. In his time at Benjamin Obdyke, he doubled company revenue in less than 10 years after the sale of the company’s roof and drainage business in 1998. McGill is highly regarded for his loyalty, honesty and exemplary work ethic.
Holcombe joined the Benjamin Obdyke team in December 2018. He lives in New Jersey with his wife Amanda and two sons.
