PANAMA CITY, Fla. – Tadlock Roofing and ABC Supply teamed up to provide a lifelong Panama City resident a much-needed roof after Hurricane Michael tore it apart.
As reported by ABC affiliate WMBB, the home of Anna Jean Hembree was among the many that were ravaged by Hurricane Michael. Following the destruction, Hembree has since lived with her son, Jonathan Arndt, due to the condition of her roof.
According to the News Herald, Hembree didn’t have homeowners insurance, and funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and a grant from Trinity Lutheran Church fell short of providing the necessary funds for replacing the roof, drywall and insulation.
Arndt’s attempts to repair the roof had been unsuccessful, but as of Thursday, they no longer had to worry. Tadlock Roofing, along with ABC Supply, provided all of the materials needed to give Hembree a brand new roof. The donation is part of Tadlock Roofing’s Buy a Roof, Give a Roof project.
“She was just in a position where she needed some help and we’re happy to help,” Wesley Turner, area manager of Tadlock Roofing in Panama City, told WMBB.
Hembree is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Panama City. Volunteers from a sister Trinity Lutheran church in Tyler, Texas came all the way out to Panama City to install the roof.
“To see that happen, for me, is almost indescribable,” Hembree said.
Acts like this are just one of the reasons why Tadlock Roofing once again made Roofing Contractor’s Top 100 List. Tadlock Roofing’s generosity is but one example of roofing contractors giving back to their communities, showing that a little hope and kindness go a long way.
Founded in 1982, ABC Supply’s sole focus has been serving professional contractors. Since then, it has become the largest wholesale distributor of roofing in the United States and one of the nation’s largest wholesale distributors of select exterior and interior building products.
