National Women in Roofing (NWIR) is proud to once again present it Network of Educating Women Scholarship program to cover the cost of attending NWIR Day and the 2020 International Roofing Expo (IRE).

The scholarship program, known as NEWS, is designed to encourage first-time attendees who work for a roofing contractor to experience the benefits of professional development at some of the roofing industry’s most important events. The scholarship is available to current NWIR members.

“Attendance at these events can influence one’s career trajectory and benefit not just the attendee, but her company/employer as well,” the NWIR website states.

The deadline to apply is Nov. 20, 2019. Winners will be notified on Dec. 9 and announced on Dec. 11. Travel arrangements must be booked by Dec. 15.

The benefits of the NEWS program include:

  • Attendance at NWIR Day on Feb. 2
  • IRE Tradeshow Expo Pass
  • Super Pass to education sessions held Feb. 4-6
  • National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) Awards Banquet
  • Hotel accommodations and roundtrip airfare
  • Tailored agenda with a host provided by the NWIR Mentorship Committee

In addition to being an NWIR member, applicants must be a woman working as or employed by a roofing contractor and able to attend NWIR-hosted sessions.
