The Western States Roofing Contractors Association (WSRCA) is now accepting applications for its 2020 Davis Memorial Foundation scholarship program.
The Davis Memorial Foundation, now in its 23rd year of supporting higher education, was established in memory of Larry and Mary Davis. Larry was an integral part of the roofing industry for many years, serving on several roofing industry association boards, including the WSRCA.
Larry and his wife Mary died in a 1995 airplane accident near their home in Modesto, Calif. while returning from a WSRCA board meeting. This fund was established to honor their support for industry education.
The Davis Memorial Foundation annually awards scholarships to individuals who want to further their education. This year, the foundation is now offering scholarships at $5,000 each for 2020.
Awards are based on academic/personal achievement, financial need and other factors, as deemed appropriate by the trustees. Completed applications are due to the WSRCA office postmarked no later than April 10, 2020.
All candidates must be one of the following:
- High school students, undergraduate or graduate students.
- Technical or vocational trade school students.
- Provisionally accepted as students into undergraduate or graduate degree programs for the coming academic year by accredited colleges, universities or vocational educational programs.
