As roofing contractors continue to serve their communities as essential businesses, Noland’s Roofing in Florida is leading by example and going one step further — or rather, four steps further.
In 2019, Noland’s Roofing received tremendous support and feedback from giving away a free roof for the first time. The company came together and decided to not only continue the program, but increase the giveaway from one free roof to four.
“We’re a family-owned business, and we feel it’s right to try and give back to those that help support us,” said Justin Shelton, vice president. “We just feel it’s the right thing in our hearts to give back to those that are in need and in our surrounding communities.”
Like all other contractors, however, the COVID-19 pandemic caused major slowdowns to business. Noland’s Roofing applied for and received funding from the Paycheck Protection Program, but thanks to this support, the business was able to thrive and continue serving customers. To stay safe, Shelton said all employees, including himself, take their temperatures daily before getting to work, and employees are equipped with masks.
Despite these changes and dips in business, Noland’s Roofing remains one of the top contractors in Florida, and has repeatedly been included on RC’s Top 100 Contractors list. This attitude of forging ahead is what led them to continue to hold the giveaway in 2020 regardless of the pandemic.
“We gave away just one roof last year and we were like ‘You know what, this is awesome,'” he said. “We decided this year we wanted to do four of them…in our minds it’s the best thing to do to give back to the people that have supported us.”
To enter, customers contact Noland’s Roofing and request a free estimate, and in doing so, receive a free entry card into the contest. The next drawing takes place June 27.
In a unique twist to the usual roof giveaway, customers who have already had roofing work performed by Noland’s Roofing can enter the contest. If they already had significant work done, the winner will receive a check for the value of the home improvement giveaway.
“Last year, the winner of our drawing was actually a customer that we already roofed, and she got a check for 20 grand,” Shelton said.
In addition to the giveaway, Noland’s Roofing is also supporting its community in light of the pandemic. The roofing contractor is providing a $500 discount to first responders.
“We’re trying to give back as much as we can,” Shelton said. “We’re happy to be a part of so many different communities in the state of Florida.”
