HOLLAND, N.Y. — EcoStar LLC, a manufacturer of synthetic slate and shake roofing products, is announcing that they've shifted a portion of the manufacturing resources to produce protective face shields to help bolster the local availability of personal protection equipment (PPE) in hospitals and other essential businesses.
"Our advanced plastic injection molding expertise allowed us to naturally adapt our manufacturing process to provide a valuable resource for healthcare facilities," said Rob Helenbrook, general manager of EcoStar and Staroba Plastics. "As a modern manufacturer, we're always looking for ways to address changing needs and to help our community. This was a natural decision for us to make."
EcoStar is the among latest roofing companies to pitch in and help create PPE for medical workers since the COVID-19 pandemic took hold. Duro-Last quickly shifted its operations to include the production of masks and gowns, while Millennium Slate reopened to create face shields.
