The National Slate Association (NSA) announced it has canceled its 2020 annual conference due to concerns over COVID-19.
According to its website, the NSA’s Board of Directors was set to promote this year’s annual conference in Boston in early October. A survey was sent last month to members with a good positive response to having a fall event in 2020.
However, after considering the current travel restrictions plus the potential of a second COVID-19 outbreak, the NSA Board of Directors decided it was best for the health and well-being of the membership and guests to cancel.
There was a silver lining for the NSA. The NSA Board of Directors agreed to host an evening cocktail event next year at the 2021 International Roofing Expo in Las Vegas, where attendees can meet the Board of Directors, enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The NSA will make a formal announcement to membership and guests regarding the date, time, and location as the 2021 event draws closer.
