The Chicago Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA) has canceled its 2021 Trade Show and Seminars due to the pandemic, but is still aiming to inform contractors with virtual events.

According to its website, the CRCA announced the cancellation of the Trade Show and Seminars on Jan. 4. It joins the dozens of other roofing expos and conferences that have been postponed, canceled or transformed in to virtual events in the name of health and safety.

In its place, the CRCA and the Chicago Area Chapter of the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) have joined forces to host virtual educational seminars and programs during Roofing Week in Chicago.

From Jan. 20-22, the groups will provide a free virtual event, featuring presenters from the National Roofing Contractors Association, Cotney Construction Law, Safety Check Inc. and more.

Topics will range from legal issues regarding steep slope protection, technical and code issues to know in 2021, new wind uplift code requirements and a safety seminar focused on fall arrest systems.
