New Jersey Roofing Contractor Sentenced to One Year in Prison for Tax Evasion
TRENTON, N.J. — A Monmouth County, N.J., business owner was sentenced to 12 months and one day in prison for tax evasion and failure to pay the IRS over $540,000 in employment taxes, said Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig.
According to a release from the attorney general, Wilson Salas-Molina, 41, of Howell, N.J., previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Peter G. Sheridan to one count of payroll tax evasion and one count of failure to collect, account for, and pay over payroll taxes. Judge Sheridan imposed the sentence on May 6 in Trenton federal court.
